Here is a few of the more visible KDE2 recent changes: Geert Jansen has added KPixmapIO to the KDE libraries - a system to load pixmaps that (optionally) utilizes shared memory and is anywhere from 2-4x faster than normal pixmap loading, Dawit Alemayehu has got short URL support working so you no longer have to type things like http:// in Konqueror (you wouldn't believe how many people requested this ;-), Konsole now supports a taskbar-like interface to multiple sessions, and KDE2 development is now based on the Qt 2.1.0 beta. Make sure you use the qt-copy module from KDE cvs or cvsup when compiling the KDE2 development version.
